Welcome to The Yuppie Puppie! Home of Wasatch Animal Rescue

Today we got a call from the woman who arranged the last rescue to MO, again asking for our help in placing breeder cull dogs (dogs over 12 weeks and younger than 8 months because they are too old to sell at pet stores and too young to breed, or dogs who aren’t producing big enough litters to profit from). We have decided to make a return rescue trip to Missouri. We will be heading down April 4, we are asking again for your help we need donations to make this trip possible, every dollar helps. We are hoping to double the amount of dogs rescues this time. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks to everyone.

WOW!! Just got an update from Faith’s
(the pug who was giving birth in a cold metal sink) foster parents… “Faith and
her babies are doing well (very very thankful!) The "puglets" are 5
weeks old now and pretty active. (We are
so grateful to know these sweet pups will never live the life their precious
mom knew for too long). We are so happy every time we see Faith’s sweet face
that her life in a living hell is over, and never again will she deliver
puppies in a cold metal sink at an auction house surrounded by people whose
only concern was how much money Faith would make them. She is doing great at
our home. She’s learning (trying too
anyway) everything there is to learn about being a dog. On her first visit
outside she was hypnotized and stood in one spot staring up for 20 min. Now she
is exploring the yard and enjoying herself. She still has a long road of
recovery but she is doing great and for the first time in her life she is so
loved and truly cared for. Thank you for
this amazing opportunity to help with your cause.”

What a crazy and amazing week it has been!! Of the 39 dogs brought back to Utah, we have adopted 30 to safe and responsible
homes. Nine still remain in foster care,
but are doing really well and we hope to have them in their forever homes soon.
Thanks so much to all the volunteers and those who donated to help make this
rescue mission possible. The dogs are doing well and adjusting better than we
had anticipated. I hope to get pictures posted soon. Thanks again to all.

Hi Everyone…
Well we made it back at 4 am today. The grand total of dogs removed from the puppy mills was 116. It seems like a big number but the thought of the remaining 444 dogs we couldn’t save, that are still in a living hell, breaks my heart! We have 31 dogs here at the Yuppie Puppie. The other 85 dogs are safe with 4 other rescue organizations, this was a group effort, and we are so thankful to everyone who participated in any fashion they could. The dogs here with us include the mom pug(that gave birth Friday in a sink in the auction barn) and her babies. It makes me happy to know she and her puppies will never be forced to give birth in a cold metal sink in freezing weather, nor will they ever have to endure the horrors of being in a hanging rabbit cage with the wire cutting and tearing their sore feet. Most of the throw away dogs (these are the puppies over 10 weeks old. Pet stores won’t buy them after that age so the breeders dispose of them) will be adoptable this week. We have 6 chihuahua puppies, 5 mini schnauzer puppies, 1 shihtzu puppy, 1 daschund, 5 heeler pups and 2 basset hounds available for adoption. Don't get me wrong! These are not your typical puppies. They are fearful of us or they freeze with fear when touched waiting to see what pain will follow. But they are young and I know they will do well when they get to their forever homes. We will be sending 2 shelties, 2 beagles, 1 shihtzu, 2 boston terriers, mom pug and babies to foster homes. We hope they heal quickly so they can be placed in their forever homes. Nine of the dogs are receiving immediate veterinary treatment, their aliments ranging from a rotten horrible mouth, open skin wounds, torn and sore feet pads, ulcerated eyes, mastitis, and internal parasites to name a few. I can’t ever describe to you the horrors and heart break we witnessed this weekend it will haunt me for the rest of my life!! Please Please!! do everything in your power to spread the word about puppy mills and NEVER NEVER buy a puppy from, or support pet stores that keep these evil torture mills open!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who donated to help make this rescue mission possible and to aid us in ending the tortures we have witnessed.

Hi All…
As expected it’s horrible here! We are through the first day and have rescued 36 dogs. It is unbelievable the way these dogs are forced to survive (notice I didn’t say live, because this is no life!!) I saw a pug giving birth in a sink today. I can’t imagine that poor dog having to give birth in a cold metal sink and who knows if the pups lived it’s so cold. The dogs are lined up in rabbit cages and then paraded up on a table shaking and terrified while everyone bids on them. Most of the dogs won’t make eye contact or even move in their cage. Some of the dogs we saved today are in rough shape. We tried to give them blankets to sleep on but they were terrified of them, and just stay curled up and shivering in the cages. It’s so sad! We are trying to focus on the dogs we saved and not the ones whose nightmare didn’t end today.

The Yuppie Puppie Home of Wasatch Animal Rescue needs your Help!! The Yuppie Puppie Home of Wasatch Animal Rescue has a great opportunity to rescue as many as seventy-five (75) dogs and puppies the beginning of February. We will be traveling out of state to the Midwest, the heart of puppy mills, to rescue the most needy, and most unwanted dogs and puppies and we will be transporting them back to Utah (you can follow the updates on our website). Because these dogs and puppies are coming from unfortunate circumstances they will no doubt be in need of serious medical intervention, such as dentals, spaying/neutering, vaccines and other various health needs. We will be rescuing these dogs from a life of unbearable cruelty. Most of these dogs have known nothing but life in an enclosure as small as most rabbit cages. They have been bred over and over again with no vet care for themselves or even a compassionate hand to pet them. We will be transporting the dogs we save back to our rescue facility. We will determine if they are immediately adoptable or if they will go to foster care until they are healthy enough for adoption. We need your help in two ways: Financial Donations: These donations will be used to fund this rescue mission, and for the care and treatment of the dogs when they get back here. We expect most all of the dogs will need vet care including dental care, grooming, medications, etc. for the treatment of parasites, tumors and other ailments. A very cautious estimate is up to $250 each dog. You can make a generous and much appreciated donation to help with this cost by clicking here, the donation button above, or by mailing or dropping off your donations at: The Yuppie Puppie Home of Wasatch Animal Rescue 868 E 900 S SLC, UT 84105 The total number of dogs we will be rescuing depends on the amount of donations we receive. We have room at our rescue facility for up to 75 dogs.Foster Homes: We are in dire need of qualified foster homes. Most of the animals we are expecting won’t be ready for adoption immediately. They will need compassionate, caring, patient people to show them not all humans are cruel, mean and heartless. Because these animals have not been cared for we need kind and gentle people to help nurse them to health and happiness. Thank you everyone for your interest and support in helping these unfortunate dogs and puppies. We will update the web site when all the dogs are safely back here.
